Cynthia Baseman from Brewster, New York is a Human-centered Computing Ph.D. student. Cynthia serves as the president of Grad Pride at Georgia Tech, which seeks to provide a social and professional support network for LGBTQIA+ graduate students and postdocs at Georgia Tech. Cynthia is proud of the fact that multiple first-year graduate students have expressed that the existence of Grad Pride positively influenced their decision to come to Georgia Tech for their studies. Cynthia has also served as an academic mentor for undergraduates working on thesis projects.
