James has demonstrated a strong commitment to leadership throughout his time at Georgia Tech, with his most primary involvement being president of Emergency Medical Services at Tech (EMSaT). Since joining the organization in 2021, James has played a pivotal role in the establishment of EMSaT as a registered student organization, the growth of membership, and the creation of a CPR certification program. Under his guidance, EMSaT recently secured a partnership with Grady EMS, bringing an ambulance onto campus partially staffed by EMSaT members, a critical step toward improving campus emergency response times and student engagement in pre-health careers. 

James' most memorable leadership moment came during his time as president when he witnessed a cultural shift within EMSaT. Initially facing challenges with membership engagement and a lack of initiative among members, James worked to create a culture of passion and involvement. His efforts culminated in a pivotal moment when multiple leaders within the organization approached him with ideas and plans they had initiated independently. This shift in ownership and enthusiasm among leadership marked a significant turning point for EMSaT, ensuring its sustainability and long-term success. James' ability to inspire autonomy and dedication in his peers has been one of his greatest leadership achievements. 

Through his leadership with EMSaT and his involvement in various campus organizations, James has exemplified Georgia Tech’s motto of Progress and Service. His work with EMSaT has enhanced campus safety by providing quicker emergency medical responses while simultaneously offering valuable opportunities for pre-health students to engage in emergency medicine. One of James’ of his most valuable lessons, learned through his teenage years with Boy Scouts Toop 474, reflect the principles of "Leave No Trace,” aiming to improve and innovate on every project he touches. His work not only advances Georgia Tech's commitment to Progress and Service but also serves the community by ensuring a safer, more engaged student body, leaving a lasting impact that will continue to benefit the campus long after his tenure.
