Justin has made a lasting impact at Georgia Tech through their leadership as senior officer of the Ethics Bowl team. Under Justin’s guidance, the team achieved a historic milestone by winning the Mid-Atlantic Regional Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl in November 2024 — the first regional win in the team’s history. After months of leading the team through complex ethical discussions on topics like animal rights, research ethics, and ecological policy, Justin’s leadership and quick thinking during the final round secured a hard-fought victory over Coastal Carolina University. This success generated increased campus interest in Ethics Bowl, leading to expanded participation in the National Bioethics Bowl and the Ethics in Engineering Case Competition. Justin’s thoughtful approach to ethical deliberation has strengthened the team and inspired more students to engage with practical ethics at Georgia Tech.

Beyond Ethics Bowl, Justin has contributed to campus life through mental health advocacy and environmental work. They organized mental health awareness events, including a Minority Mental Health Forum and multiple Mental Health Speak-outs, creating spaces for students to share their experiences and feel supported. Their work as a Peer Coach with the Center for Mental Health Care and Resources reflects a commitment to supporting fellow students through non-judgmental listening and guidance. Justin has also led efforts to improve Atlanta’s urban forest, bringing dozens of students to Trees Atlanta volunteer plantings and forest restoration projects.

Justin’s leadership reflects Georgia Tech’s motto of Progress and Service through a thoughtful blend of advocacy, mentorship, and environmental stewardship. Their legacy includes a strengthened Ethics Bowl program, greater mental health awareness on campus, and a deeper connection between students and the natural environment.
