Lucas has made a remarkable impact at Georgia Tech through his leadership and commitment to building community. As the president of the GT German Club for three years and vice president for one, Lucas has helped transform the organization into a vibrant and welcoming space for students of all backgrounds. Under his leadership, the club more than doubled in size and introduced new programming, including cultural day trips and culinary events, that allowed students to engage with German language and culture firsthand. Lucas prioritized inclusivity, ensuring that both fluent speakers and learners felt connected and supported. His efforts have strengthened the cultural fabric of campus, creating a legacy of intercultural understanding and connection.

Lucas’s leadership extended beyond cultural engagement into the world of competitive robotics, where he played a pivotal role in elevating Georgia Tech Robojackets to new heights. As the youngest Robot Lead in the organization's history, he guided his team through intense challenges, including supply chain disruptions and technical setbacks, to qualify for the NHRL 30 lb. Combat Robotics World Championship—a first for Georgia Tech. When disaster struck during the competition, Lucas’s quick thinking and calm leadership enabled the team to complete emergency repairs and secure a 3-1 record, earning a coveted spot at the championship. His ability to unite the team under pressure and drive them toward success exemplifies the resilience and innovation that define Georgia Tech’s motto of Progress and Service.

Through his work in both the German Club and Robojackets, Lucas has embodied the spirit of Georgia Tech by progressing his communities and serving others. His leadership in the German Club has cultivated a space where students can connect, learn, and feel at home, while his success in competitive robotics has set a new standard of excellence for future teams. Lucas’ ability to lead with both strategic vision and genuine care for his peers reflects the values of Georgia Tech, leaving behind a legacy of growth, community, and achievement.
