Recognizing the critical role psychology plays across all disciplines, Rachel has focused on expanding the Psychology Association’s reach and making it more accessible within the Georgia Tech community. Her leadership as president, along with her previous roles as vice president and finance officer, has strengthened the Association’s impact, fostering a growing interest in psychology among students from diverse academic backgrounds. Beyond the Association, she co-founded the School of Psychology’s Undergraduate Advisory Board to ensure students have a voice in shaping their academic experience.
Rachel’s leadership philosophy is rooted in kindness and connection. Through her involvement in SMILE, she has spearheaded initiatives that promote well-being and positivity on campus. She co-led the “Hearts for Campus” project, encouraging students to share messages of joy and encouragement, which were displayed around campus to uplift the community. As part of the Campus Beautification Committee, she helped create inspiring chalk messages outside the CULC and participated in the Finals Encouragement bags initiative, reminding students they are supported during stressful times.
Rachel exemplifies Georgia Tech’s motto of Progress and Service by demonstrating that small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact. Her leadership journey has been shaped by both successes and setbacks, teaching her the value of resilience and perspective. She believes progress happens through consistent, meaningful actions, and she hopes her contributions continue to cultivate a more connected and compassionate campus long after she graduates.
