As vice president of Cascading for Outdoor Recreation Georgia Tech (ORGT), Rachel runs sport meetings and represents the sport to the executive board. She has helped to pilot a diversity, equity, and inclusion training for ORGT and has served as an expedition facilitator on a week-long backpacking expedition.

I have put in over 150 hours volunteering on ORGT trips, and it is clear to me that people can be transformed by facing new situations with support from staff like me. Two of the most memorable moments of my college experience were centered on coaching a participant through their fears, and after both occasions, the participants cited those moments as evidence that they could take on challenges beyond ORGT trips.
