Sriya has made a significant impact at Georgia Tech through her leadership in the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and beyond. As vice president of Finance, she secured funding for technical workshops and networking events, empowering women in STEM. Her leadership extended to the BME Student Advisory Board and the BME Faculty Undergraduate Committee, where she implemented a feedback system that led to improvements in academic advising and curriculum transparency. Her approach to leadership is rooted in empathy, ensuring that all students feel heard, valued, and supported in their academic journey.

A defining moment in Sriya’s leadership occurred during the annual Tea with the Dean event, where she shared her personal struggles with imposter syndrome. This vulnerable moment resonated deeply with incoming students, as several expressed how her story made them feel less alone. Sriya’s openness reinforced the idea that leadership is about authenticity and empowering others to embrace their own potential.

Sriya’s commitment to Progress and Service is evident in her work as a head teaching assistant for BMED 3100, where she enhanced course structure and mentored students. Her independent research on artificial intelligence and immunology aims to push scientific boundaries with ethical responsibility. Through her involvement in the Student Government Association Academic Affairs Committee, the Office of Undergraduate Education Student Advisory Board, and various arts initiatives, Sriya has consistently championed meaningful change, leaving a legacy of empowerment and inclusive progress at Georgia Tech.
