The GOLD Route is designed for all Georgia Tech students. Whether you're just starting out your undergraduate career or if you're continuing your education as a graduate student, leadership is going to play a foundational role in your experiences at Tech.

Because the GOLD Route is entirely customizable, you'll be able to find workshops, activities, and extended leadership experiences that support you no matter where you are in your leadership journey.

The GOLD Route is designed to be completed in an academic year; students may, however, choose to complete the GOLD Route over more than one academic year if necessary.

Here are some students who've gotten involved in the GOLD Route:

  • First-Year Undergrads who are interested in holding a leadership role at GT at some point
  • PhD students who are looking to transition their academic experiences to a post-graduation career
  • Students who are new or returning to an Officer role in a Registered Student Organization
  • Students who hold advanced leadership roles on campus (SGA, RHA, etc.)
  • Students who are wondering how to explain how their leadership on campus makes them great candidates for internships, jobs, and co-ops
  • Students who are already involved on campus and looking to centralize their extracurricular experiences

Getting Started

Are you ready to get started or continue your leadership journey? To begin the GOLD Route, each participant completes a required Personal Pre-Assessment.

The short assessment is designed to

  • help you reflect on your current strengths and areas of growth
  • establish what you want to get out of the GOLD Route,
  • serve as a pre-marker for you to look back on when you've completed the GOLD Route.

After you complete your pre-assessment, the Center for Student Engagement team will add you to the GOLD Route path in Engage and send you a welcome email.

Tracking Your Progress

Wondering how your progress is going? At any time, you can log in to Engage and check out your progress on the GOLD Route; check out the Participating in a Co-Curricular Path webpage on Engage.

Additionally, each item that you complete on the GOLD Route (and any other extra- or co-curricular participation you track in Engage) will appear on your unique, customizable Co-Curriculal Transcript (CCT). The CCT can be directly edited by each student to highlight those experiences they believe are most significant, most prestigious, or most developmental. Because the CCT helps to illustrate the skills you've gained at Tech, the CCT also serves as a fantastic supporting document to include on applications for jobs, co-ops, internships, and even graduate school.

Recognition & Celebration

Participants who complete the GOLD Route are honored each spring at the prestigious Up with the White & Gold ceremony. In addition to recognition at the Up with the White & Gold ceremony, GOLD Route participants are invited to create a leadership profile with the Center for Student Engagement; the profile includes a personal professional headshot with the Reck and a feature on the Center for Student Engagement website. Leader profiles may also be featured in other campus programs and promotions.
